FIGHTING FOR EVERYDAY AMERICANS *

Big pharma is the problem.

Since 1985, U.S. drug prices have risen about 5.5 times, or 450%, but that’s not enough for the prescription drug manufacturers. They want to be able to charge more, and the last thing standing in their way are pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs). PBMs are the companies that negotiate the cost of drugs down, so people like us don’t have to pay as much out of pocket at the pharmacy counter. Now, Big Pharma has teamed up with independent pharmacists to try to force PBMs out of business. We’re not going to let that happen.

We need lower costs, greater access, and smarter reform.

Everyone from President Trump to state lawmakers are looking for ways to lower the costs of prescription drugs. We need affordable prescriptions. We need accessible pharmacies. We need more transparency and accountability in our health care system. But Big Pharma-backed politicians are pushing laws that would ban PBMs from owning pharmacies, forcing them out of entire states. It’s already happening in Arkansas, and now other states are considering similar legislation.

Unintended consequences could decimate our communities.

Most of these bills have been introduced by well-intentioned lawmakers, genuinely looking for solutions to rising costs of prescription drugs. But the reality is that PBMs are the only part of the health care supply chain still holding Big Pharma accountable. Banning them from owning pharmacies and forcing them out of states completely will result in massive unintended consequences that will shutter pharmacies, skyrocket the cost of prescription drugs, and ultimately disproportionately impact underserved communities including minorities, veterans, and those living in rural areas.

So, we’re showing up.

We’re organizing to save our pharmacies from Big Pharma’s greed. We refuse to stand idly by and allow more of our pharmacies to be closed due to misguided legislation - or worse, malicious legislation simply introduced because pharmaceutical companies have the deepest pockets. Our communities deserve better. Our families deserve better. We can’t all afford another hike in prescriptions we rely on every day. We can’t all afford to drive an extra twenty minutes one way because our local pharmacy was closed. So we’re standing up, we’re showing up, and we’re fighting back.

Join the movement.
